On Hospitalized Birthdays in Dubai and Appreciation

Benefits needed: A serious immunity boost

Concept/Takeaway: Wether it be a three day, three month, or lifelong journey you're on, being sick sucks. Even having a cold sucks. And the moment you lose your health is the moment you swear to never take it for granted again. Being prepared helps avoid all of this.

Disclaimer: The cover photo is from the Grand Mosque in Abu Dhabi. Another emirate in the UAE, but not Dubai. (Taken 4 days after my birthday. I later went back to Dubai to finish sorting my health.)

The Story: It was my birthday and I was stuck in Dubai.

I know that may seem cool, but it’s less than that when you’ve been in and out of the hospital all week, trying to sort through languages and medical documents to figure out what’s wrong with you. Especially at 23 years old, 6,700 miles from home. That's 11,000 km for those of you keeping track in the metric.

Don’t get me wrong, I still went into the desert, played around on four wheelers, and saw a show in the sands on my bday. I mean, I’m a cool-girl after all. But the waking up in the middle of the night hunched over in pain? Practically in tears? Not particularly a great addition.

Now listen, this sickness was some stomach issue that I had acquired after months "on the road." But once you’re sick, you’re sick! And you’re way more susceptible to other ailments like viruses and bacterias. Even simple allergies (from the flora of unknown places) can flourish.  When you’re traveling for a long time, something is bound to go wrong with your health. Lord have mercy if your original problem trickles into an infection, a cough, or a general, terrible, sick feeling on top of it all.

When you’re in a new place, you’re surrounded by new germs you know nothing of. Your body isn’t used to them. Wether it be a three day, three month, or lifelong journey you're on, being sick sucks. Even simply having a cold sucks. And the second you lose your health is the second you swear to never take it for granted again.

Well, that’s what I swore. Hunched over in bed in the only hostel dorm in Dubai, and possibly the entirety of the UAE, on my 23rd birthday. I swore to never take my health for granted again.

Now, maybe you know me, maybe you don’t. But I’m a firm believer in that if you say you’re going to do something, you do it. If you don’t, not only are you the only one to blame, but you kind of deserve what you have coming. Because you said you’d do something and you didn’t. Now look, something went wrong because of it. Who could have guessed.

So, I swore never to take my health for granted again and I still haven’t. That includes doing a long list of things. For instance, making it back to the states (where I'm from) for my doctors appointments and such every year. But it also includes making sure my body is in peak shape to combat any potential viruses that could get thrown at me. And what better way to prepare for that than to take a daily immunity booster and avoid the effects of said virus or bacteria all together.

And what better way to make sure I get the best immunity booster than to design it myself. And hey, once it's created, what better than to share it with all of you. I’m not taking my healthy body for granted and I don’t want you to either. So, I made sure all of these awesome immunity boosting agents were included in our travel supplement

On top of all of the other total body wellness benefits Co-Pilot needed to provide, I also needed it to be a fire immunity booster. I wanted to use ingredients that we knew worked, but had never before been combined in such a useful way. I wanted to create the best possible immunity booster, specifically made for travel, that you couldn’t find anywhere else. So, I did!

We used Ashwagandha to help boost your levels of immune cells. We added organic black chia seeds, full of antioxidants, to boost your immunity as well. Green tea leaf, Selenomethionine, and Vitamin A, B1, B3, B5, B6, B7, B9, C, D3 and E all additionally contribute to raising your immune system and fighting disease in various ways. Then, we added BioPerine. That's, more or less, the part of black pepper that makes you absorb nutrients quickly. This makes all of these immune system benefits absorb into your body quickly and more effectively.

And on top of all of that, with the physical and mental benefits of taking Co-Pilot's Daily Travel Supplement every day, we can all go to sleep a little easier knowing that we truly are not taking our healthy bodies for granted, but rather thanking and nourishing them to keep them that way. (We can also rest easier because more restful sleep is one of the benefits of taking Co-Pilot. Lol.)

So with that, we remember to take our supps daily and take our health for granted never.

Note from the editor: By the way, I think "desert" should be spelt with two Ss, because that’s the one I always want more of. (Does anyone else get that joke or...?)
